Journalism is a very rewarding profession for persons with the right skills and aptitude .it has come the long ways since the days when it meant only the print media. Today the news reporting covers the entire spectrum as media as we know it. Print, radio TV and most recently the internet.

The profession:
Journalist specialise in different areas .Reporters work in the field. They are sent out on the assignment which they should comprehensively cover. Correspondents: cover story related to their specialized area like sports, films, art, social events ,politics foreign issues etc. Columnists: where periodically in their signed column.Features writers: produce expensive, well research pices on the particular topics. Critics: Review books films ,tv programme, music album etc.Sub editors: collect and organized the material on the page. He edits and sometimes even rewrites texts that he finds inadequate.Chief editors: Frame the policy and engineer the image of the publication.Freelance the journalist: Work independent of the publication and contribute with occasional pices.
