TRADITIONAL MEDICINE

Man non conventional ,traditional healing system exist in India and they have increase in popularity in recent times. Earlier there was a tendency to discredit the validity and the efficiency of these system which were dubbed as unscientific and irrational. But now research studies have authenticated the claims of these healing systems and there is a wide global revival of interest in them. The Indian board of alternative medicine was established in Calcutta to promote awareness about the alternative medicine. various types of alternative therapy exist in India today such as homoeopathy, ayurveda, siddha, unani, medicine ,Tibetan medicine, naturopathy etc.
The profession:
Homoeopathy: is German in origin. is follows a holistic method of treatment by giving equal importance to the patient personality traits and symptoms of his affiction. Homoeopathy is most effective in the treatment of allergies.
Ayurveda: Is an indigenous science whose origins can be traced to very ancient times. it emphasizes the preventive rather than curative. Apart from intake of medicine ,ayurveda prescribes special massages and herbal bath that are invigorating.
Naturopathy: Closely allied with ayurveda is the field of naturopathy which emphasizes natural as opposed to the synthetic. Natural foods, natural remedies ,discipline and systematic living in harmony with the nature 

Siddha: is practice in Tamilnadu and is also an ancient form of medicine. It uses the herbal remedies, alchemy and pressure point massage to alleviative sickness and pain. It emphasis the use of remedial properties inherent in the natural environment.
Unani medicine: is based on the hippocratic philosophy that good health depends on the balance of the element and the humors in human system. Unani medicine was developed in to an elaborate therapeutic systems by the Arabs, remedies include herbal concoctions. Diet control, physical exercise, and some animal based drugs. 
Tibetan medicine:
Is the synthesis of ancient Tibetan, Chinese and pursian medicine, there are over 32 Tibetan medicine and astro institutes (TMAI) all over the country with the permanent set up in Delhi. Remedies include fruits, flowers ,mineral ,hurbs ,metallic concoctions as well as acupressure and massage. The modern world is veritable hotbed for alternative therapies the stresses and strains of life are so overwhelming that more people are actively responding to the alternative forms of cure. Today the repertoire of strange and uncommon therapies includes such esoteric names as reiki, mahikari, pranic healing, T.M etc.

Job market:
The field is most favorable for the self employment. The trained person can also seek jobs in hospitals clinics, corporate organizations, health resorts etc. 
*Homoeopathy:
