The science that studies the gems ad precious stones, their sourcing, identification, grading, polishing and marketing is called Gemology. the gemologist allies with the jeweler and advices him on the agreement of gems to particular metals Jewelers are involved in design, production, and repair of jewellery. Traditional hand tools and moulds as well as new modern equipments are used by jewelers to create new design and patterns.
